The organization was
founded in 1986 in Boston
as a result of an assessment visit in Haiti by a delegation chaired by Dr
Edith I. Jones and co-chaired by Dr Michel Henry Brutus.
The social and health conditions that Dr Brutus
witnessed were heart breaking and inspired him to take action. He
immediately decided to do the very best he can to improve the life of the
underprivileged in Haiti.
H.E.L.P., INC was inaugurated on August 31, 1991
in Vaudreuil and has been operational since then.
H.E.L.P., INC. provides services to more than 160,000
inhabitants. It has evolved to an integrated project involving various
disciplines such as:
Health, Education, Nutrition, Orphanage, Agriculture.
H.E.L.P.,INC. envisions in the next five years to
sponsor the green movement in Haiti,
as well as spearheading an alternate source of sustainable energy program, a
green village concept. Its ultimate goal is to build a university that will
include in its curriculum… Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Agronomy, Computer
Science, Architecture.
